Description
Cicely Mill is a house dating from the 17th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill and a stone slate roof, and stands two storeys tall. The entrance front has eight by three cells of small framing on a brick plinth. On the ground floor, there is a three-light casement window to the left and a four-light casement window to the right. The first floor has a four-light gabled dormer casement with coving above and a timber-framed gable. An inscription on the gable tie reads: I.B. 1650. To the right side, there is a later wing that includes a 20th-century door to the left and a four-light mullion window to the right on the ground floor, with a three-light casement window above on the first floor. At the rear, there is a 20th-century outshut with planted timbers and a 20th-century attic dormer similar to the one at the front. Inside, the parlour features an inglenook fireplace with an ovolo-moulded bressumer. The ceiling has chamfered end-stopped beams, and the internal walls are small-framed with wattle and daub infill.
