Description

The sundial in St Mary's Churchyard dates from around 1730 and is made of ashlar. It stands approximately 4 feet high and features a wide circular base with a baluster column that has a heavy lower concave body and a concave upper section. The circular plate is inscribed with "Lat. D53. M20. Geo. Lupton. Altringham Fecit." The gnomon, which is from the 20th century, is broken.
