Description
A pair of houses dating to approximately 1830, located on the east side of High Street, Macclesfield. They were originally built as dwellings with weavers’ garrets above. The houses are three storeys high, with each having a single window in each bay, planned as double-pile dwellings with a single unit per house. They share a paired central entrance with four-panelled doors, each topped with a radial fanlight, set within painted stone architraves featuring clustered shafts and roll-moulding. The windows are 12-pane sashes, set within painted stone voussoirs. The attic storey has long, horizontally sliding sash windows with small panes. End wall stacks are present.
