Description
No 3 Princes Street is a house that was once part of a continuous street frontage, built in the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features a single truncated ridge chimney stack at the north-west end. The north-east elevation has three storeys and five bays, with the main entrance located in bay 4 at the north-west end. The doorway is framed by a semi-circular stepped arch with a keystone, rising from moulded imposts and enclosing a plain overlight. The entrance consists of an eight-panel mock double door.
The ground floor has four windows beneath painted segmental heads, with the window to the left of the doorway being enlarged. Bay 1 contains a blocked service door and a 20th-century window has been inserted. The first-floor openings are above a continuous cill with flat heads, while the second-floor openings are smaller and sit below a moulded cornice. All window frames are horned sashes, each with two over two panes. The house is listed for its group value.
