Description

This is a late 18th-century house on Princes Street. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings, and stands three storeys high with a three-window front. The house has a painted stone plinth with blocked basement openings, and an eaves cornice. A round-headed recess contains the central entrance, featuring an architrave with engaged columns and a broken pediment, enclosing a panelled door set unusually low—possibly reset after the removal of steps—and an overlight. The ground and first-floor windows have painted stone lintels, the lintel to the right-hand first-floor window being a replacement from the 19th century. These windows contain 19th-century sash windows. Similar, but smaller, sash windows are found on the second floor.
