Description
This barn, located approximately 50 meters south of Lower Crow Trees, dates back to 1671 and has been extended and altered over the years. It is constructed from sandstone rubble with quoins and features a corrugated asbestos roof, which was damaged at the time of the survey. The barn consists of three bays, with a fourth bay added on the right end.
The central bay has a wagon entrance that includes a short porch with a right cheek and a damaged roof. To the left, there is a later lean-to covering the first bay. On the right, the third bay has a plain doorway topped by a large lintel, which features a datestone with a moulded surround and the letters "W . M." in relief. The addition on the right, built in 1671 from random rubble, includes a small doorway and a square upper opening with a chamfered surround; this section has also recently suffered from gale damage.
This barn is listed for its group value only.
