Description

Guidepost at the north-west corner of the junction of three branches of Stones Bank Road, probably from the early 19th century. This rectangular stone post is approximately half a metre high and features round-topped faces with an intersecting rounded head. The front, left, and right sides have incised finger pointers and are lettered: "TO BOLTON," "TO DARWEN," "TO BOLTON AND BLACKBURN," and "TO BELMONT AND CHORLEY."
