Description

Peareth Hall Farmhouse is believed to date from around 1750, though it may be later 18th century. Originally a coach-house wing of a larger house, it now serves as a single dwelling. The building is constructed of ashlar with a pantiled roof. It features a single storey with five windows, a central door, and a Venetian window within a round-headed recess on the right-hand return. Architectural details include a plinth, cill band, and eaves cornice. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The rear of the building incorporates coach-house and other doors leading to a basement area beneath the five windows, and the hipped roof has a brick chimney at one end. It is one of a pair of wings originally built for William Peareth, around 1750, as part of Usworth House. The main house was demolished around 1900, leaving this wing as the principal surviving feature.
