Description
Fulwell Mill is a tower windmill built around 1821 on the site of an earlier mill. It was restored in 1951 and again in 1987. The mill is constructed from magnesian limestone rubble, with brick dressings at the base and a rendered tower. The base features a high round reefing stage with blocked, round-headed doorways that have brick arches on the north and west sides, and metal doors in similar arches on the south and east sides. The high tapered tower has blocked doors on the east and west, and windows at three levels, with wood lintels over boarded windows on the first floor and casements with glazing bars on the upper floors. The restored domed cap includes sails and a fantail. The interior of the mill is intact and is noted as the most complete in the region.
