Description

A group of three houses forming a terrace, built in the late 18th century with alterations in the 19th century. The houses are constructed of garden wall bond brick with painted ashlar dressings. They are topped with a Welsh slate roof and have ashlar and brick chimneys. Each house is two storeys high, with basements to numbers 162 and 164, and originally had two windows to the front. Number 160 also has a return elevation to Bartram Street. Each house has a front door: a four-panelled door to numbers 164 and 162, the upper panels of number 162 being glazed, and a plain overlight in an architrave with a cornice that projects forward from console brackets. Number 160 has a six-panelled door set within a pilaster and entablature surround. Numbers 162 and 160 feature canted bay windows to the basement and ground floor, while number 164 has full-length applied glazing bars to its canted bay, with doors leading to the garden, all corniced. The windows have wedge stone lintels and a sill string to the first floor. The sashes in number 164 have been renewed, number 162 has top-hung casements, and number 160 has renewed glazing with applied bars. The roof is hipped on the right side, with transverse ridge chimneys.
