Description
Coqueda Hall, originally a house and later a gospel hall, is now a rest home. It dates from the early 18th century and has undergone some 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of coursed squared painted stone, featuring a plinth and 20th-century pointing, with the right side rendered. The roof is covered with concrete tiles and has rendered chimneys. The structure has a T-plan layout with a rear stair wing and a range that runs parallel to the front in the right rear angle.
The exterior is two storeys high and has three windows. There is a square projecting porch, likely from the 20th century, with a renewed door beneath a painted name board. The porch roof features corner blocks that flank sunburst-patterned quasi-pediments. The windows have projecting painted sills, with glazing bars; the outer bays contain tripartite windows with sash outer lights, while the others have renewed fixed lights, all with glazing bars. The roof has a steep pitch and a moulded eaves gutter cornice, with chimneys at both ends. The rear stair wing includes a round-headed window with glazing bars.
Inside, the ground floor room divisions in the front range have been removed. The dog-leg stair features a closed string and fat turned urn and skittle balusters, with a handrail that has had its moulding removed.
