Description
Nos 2-4 Dawson Square are three houses built around 1860. They are constructed of English bond brick with ashlar dressings and feature a Welsh slate roof. The buildings have a basement and three storeys, with two bays for each house. The doors and overlights are set back in flat Tuscan stone doorcases located in the first bays, while the second bays have canted bay windows on the basement and ground floor. The upper floors have sash windows with flat stone lintels and projecting stone sills, and the second bays contain tripartite stone-mullioned windows. The windows above the bay windows open onto balconies with an anthemion pattern made of cast iron. The houses also have an eaves board and gutter cornice, along with ashlar-coped end brick chimneys. These houses are included in the listing mainly for their group value.
