Description

The First World War Memorial, located opposite number 6 on Front Street in Tynemouth, was built around 1920. It is made of granite and features bronze lettering. The memorial includes a circular bench that is divided by diagonal walls. At its center, there are four tall concave slabs that form a cenotaph, which bears the names of the fallen soldiers along with a low relief depiction of a sword and a wreath.
