Description
Marsden House is an early 18th-century house located on the north side of Front Street in Tynemouth. It features an incised rendered plinth and painted incised render, with a roof made of pantiles. The chimney on the left is rendered, while the right chimney is brick with a white brick upper section. The house has a basement and three storeys, with five windows. Access is via seven stone steps leading to a central six-panelled door that has an overlight, all set within a Tuscan doorcase adorned with a triglyph frieze. The windows are sash style, featuring very narrow glazing bars set in wide projecting boxes, with painted wedge lintels and projecting stone sills. There is some timber framing visible in the passage on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
