Description
Nos. 18-21 on Framlington Place are two pairs of houses in a terrace, built around 1850. They are constructed of yellow brick with an ashlar plinth and dressings, topped with a slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high with attics and each pair features three bays. Each pair has a dentilled open pediment over the four central bays. The outer entrance bays are set back and have four-panel doors with overlights framed in architraves, while sash windows are located above. The sash windows have wedge stone lintels and projecting stone sills, with late 19th-century glazing bars on Nos. 18 and 19 on the right, and margined sashes on Nos. 20 and 21. There are similar windows in the left pediment, while the right pediment features segmental brick arches over the windows, with one additional window inserted. There is also a one-storey, one-bay addition above the entrance bay of No. 19. Brick chimneys are positioned on the ridge, running back from the pediments.
