Description
Claremont House is a villa built around 1840, constructed of grey English bond brick with ashlar dressings and a graduated slate roof. The building has two storeys and features three windows. The central entrance consists of a four-panelled door set within a Tuscan surround that has a prominent cornice. The windows are margined sashes framed by architraves and include sill bands. The ends of the house are accentuated by pilasters with ashlar capitals. Additionally, there is an eaves band and paired brackets supporting the wide eaves of the low-pitched hipped roof. The structure is topped with two ashlar chimneys that have cornices.
