Description

No. 35 Davison Street is a mid-19th century house and shop constructed from coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings. The roof is made of Welsh slate and features flat stone gable copings. The building is two storeys high and has a layout of three windows across and two windows deep.

The central entrance door is located beneath an oblong fanlight and is framed by alternate-block rusticated jambs, topped with a stone lintel and cornice. The windows are margined sashes with flat stone lintels and have projecting stone sills at the ground floor, along with a sill band at the first floor. To the right of the door, there is a shop window that has a round-cornered moulding with a central lozenge, flanked by fluted pilasters, all within a plain surround that features decorated brackets supporting the cornice.

The canted corner of the building contains a double shop door that is half-glazed and also has an oblong fanlight above, with a stone lintel. Above this door is a blind wall. The right side of the building includes a shop window and two sash windows. Additional architectural details include a plinth, an eaves band, and rusticated quoins. The hipped roof at the corner is complemented by banded stone chimneys with octagonal corniced pots on both the left end and right side.
