Description

This is a late 18th-century house situated on the south side of Front Street in Whickham. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with a pantiled roof and a chimney built of brick at one end. The house has two storeys and three bays. A glazed door is positioned under a blocked fanlight in the left bay, and a pointed-headed passage door with a slatted over-light is in the third bay. More recent windows are installed between flat stone lintels above all openings, and projecting window sills are present. The building is included in the listing for its contribution to the wider group value of the street.
