Description

Salisbury House is a house dating from the third quarter of the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with raised quoins and ashlar dressings. The roof is tiled with concrete tiles, featuring flat stone gable coping. The building is two storeys high with a three-window front. The central entrance has a five-panelled door set within a moulded architrave, topped by a frieze and cornice. The frieze is inscribed with the words "SALISBURY HOUSE". Flanking the door are sash windows within raised surrounds. Above, a round-headed sash window is set within a keystoned raised surround with impost blocks. All windows retain their original glazing bars. Horizontal bands mark the sill and first floor levels. A projecting eaves cornice and blocking course are also present. The steeply-pitched roof is punctuated by two corniced grey brick chimneys. The interior has not been inspected.
