Description

Lloyd's Bank is an early 20th-century building located on the east side of High Street in Stockton on Tees. It features a triumphal arch front with three storeys and three bays. The structure is primarily brick, with a stone fronted channelled ground floor. The design includes a central window recess, a modillion cornice, and an open pediment with a balustrade atop a brick parapet that has stone capping.

The side and central windows are set in giant recesses that slightly project forward and are adorned with impost mouldings. Central superimposed pilasters feature thin bands of rustication and struck voussoirs, with a central scrolled key above the second-floor window and scrolls at the base of the open pediment. The building has glazing bar sash windows, which are wider in the centre. The central first-floor window includes a pulvinated frieze, an eaved architrave, and an entablature, along with a cast iron balcony. The side windows on the first floor have brick keys and aprons, while the ground floor fenestration follows a 2-3-2 pattern, with the right-hand opening serving as a doorway topped by a scrolled entablature.
