Description
Number 25 on High Street is part of a group of buildings that includes Nos 25-29, dating from the mid to late 18th century. The building has four storeys and features two windows facing High Street and five windows facing Bishop Street. It is constructed of brick with stone cill bands, a later brick parapet, and a modern brick ground floor. Most of the south-facing windows are original, with some retaining their glazing bars, particularly in the upper sashes. There is a later three-light oriel window on the first floor facing High Street, which has a pulvinated frieze and a dentil cornice. The shop fronts are modern, with a three-light design on Bishop Street, a corner entrance, and a single light on High Street on the first floor.
