Description
The Sun Inn and No. 24, High Street, located on Knowles Street, is an early 19th-century building. The Sun Inn features three storeys with two windows on both the first and second floors, all of which are horned vertical-sliding sashes without glazing bars. The building is constructed of painted brick and has a slate roof, complemented by stone kneelers and modillions at the gutter.
Adjacent to the Sun Inn, the house is rendered and has pantile roofs, also rising to three storeys with two windows on each of the first and second floors. It includes a wide arched entry and door on the ground floor. To the north, there is a lower two-storey extension with one window and another lower two-storey extension with three windows. All these windows are vertical-sliding sashes with three equal panels in the top sash and without horns. The ground floor features late retail frontages, and the sash windows have flush moulded frames.
