Description
This boundary stone, dating from the mid to late 19th century, is located 415 metres southeast of Claphow Farmhouse in Lingdale. It is made of dressed sandstone and measures approximately 23 cm by 30 cm and stands 46 cm high, featuring a domed top. The stone is inscribed with the letter 'P' on the south, west, and east faces, and the letter 'W' on the north face. It marks the boundary between land owned by Pease and Partners (Ironmasters) and land owned by the Wharton family (Skelton Estate).
