Description

LOFTUS HIGH STREET NZ 7218 (north side), Loftus. 4/25 No. 31 (The Angel Inn) 6.1.75 G.V. II Inn,c.1800. Dressed sandstone. Late C20 interlocking clay pantile roof with stone ridge and gable copings and shaped kneeler at right end. Stacks partly rebuilt in brick. Plain clay tiled roof over bay windows. 2 storeys, 3 windows. Entered at left from segmental-headed carriage entrance with voussoirs, holding mid C20 boarded double doors under timber blocking in tympanum. 2 early C20 canted bay windows with sashes under common lean-to roof. Late C19 sash windows with painted sills on first floor. Corniced ridge and right end stacks. 2-storey rear wing is not of special interest. Included for group value.
