Description
Nos. 36 and 37 on High Street are a pair of terraced cottages built in the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed from Chevron-tooled dressed sandstone and feature a clay pantile roof with stone ridge copings. The cottages have been modified with partly rebuilt brick stacks. They stand two storeys high and have two windows each. A shallow plinth supports the structure. The entrances consist of renewed six-panel doors with overlights. There is an off-centre segment-headed passage entrance with voussoirs, and to the left of No. 36 is the doorway to No. 35, which also has a renewed six-panel door and overlight with glazing bars. The windows are renewed sashes with glazing bars and painted sills. The cottages have ridge and right end stacks and are included for their group value.
