Description
Nos. 113 and 115 on Westgate are a pair of houses built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. They are constructed from chevron dressed sandstone. No. 113 has a mid-20th century concrete tiled roof, while No. 115 features clay pantiles. Both houses have stone gable copings and a combination of one brick stack on the left-hand side and two stone stacks with cornices in the center and on the right-hand side.
Each house is two storeys high and has three bays. The first-floor windows are sash style with glazing bars and painted stone sills. There are two stone steps leading up to the doorways. No. 113 has a central six-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above it and a keystone. On either side of the door, there are late 19th-century square bay windows. No. 115 also has a central six-panelled door, which features a rectangular fanlight with margin glazing bars, a simple moulded timber architrave, and a narrow hood. This house has late 19th-century canted bay windows with sashes and glazing bars on either side of the doorway. Extensions and outbuildings at the rear of the houses are not of interest.
