Description
Lower Garth is a town house built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick on a dressed sandstone plinth and features a Welsh slate roof with stone ridge and gable copings, complete with kneelers. The house has two storeys and three bays. The central doorway is framed by a timber pilaster-and-entablature surround and has a narrow canopy above it. The entrance includes glazed French doors with glazing bars and a rectangular fanlight also with glazing bars. The ground floor has fixed-light bow windows with glazing bars and a moulded cornice. On the first floor, there are sash windows with glazing bars, painted stone lintels, and sills. The building is accented by rusticated quoins, a timber dentilled eaves cornice, and iron ogee guttering. There are extensions to the rear on the north side, but these are not considered of interest.
