Description

Belmont Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse located on the east side of Belmangate, Guisborough. It is constructed of dressed sandstone with a Welsh slate roof, featuring stone ridge and gable copings, and a stone stack to the left-hand gable. The farmhouse is two storeys high and originally three bays wide. It has late 19th-century sash windows. Square bay windows on the ground floor are present, with casements and a bracketed cornice to the right-hand bay. The windows have painted stone sills.

Around 1853, a two-storey extension was added to the right-hand side of the farmhouse, matching the original materials and proportions. This extension features two corniced stacks and sash windows with glazing bars. A four-panelled door, with the upper two panels glazed, is located in the left-hand bay. Extensions to the rear (north-east side) of the farmhouse are not considered to be of significant architectural interest. The listing includes the farmhouse and extension for their group value alongside farm outbuildings situated to the north-east and north of the farmhouse.
