Description

The railway bridge over the road was built in 1861 for the Cleveland Railway, which is now disused. It is constructed of dressed rockfaced sandstone and features a single skew-arched span. The bridge has raked and curved retaining walls that support the railway embankment, which are separated from the arch by buttresses. The parapets and retaining walls have rusticated copings, and there is an impost band that runs through the arch.
