Description

This is a mid-17th century cottage located on Belmangate in Guisborough. It is a cross-passage dwelling and originally comprised two bays. The cottage is constructed of dressed sandstone with a mid-20th century concrete tiled roof and two brick stacks. The front elevation features two mid-20th century casement windows on each floor, set within slightly enlarged openings that retain parts of the original stone surrounds. A central, chamfered doorway is flanked by a small mid-20th century fixed-light window to the right. Painted stone sills are present throughout. The building is included in the listing partly for its group value with numbers 52 and 54, Belmangate.
