Description

A pair of cottages dating to the mid-19th century, located on Belmangate in Guisborough. They are constructed of chevron-dressed sandstone with a clay Gaelic tile roof, and feature an off-centre brick stack. The cottages are two storeys high. Each cottage has a late 19th-century canted bay window on the ground floor with sash windows, a doorway to the right, and a sash window with glazing bars on the first floor. Painted stone sills are present. Extensions to the rear, on the west side, are not considered significant. The cottages are included on the register partly for their group value alongside numbers 10 to 16 (even numbers) on Belmangate.
