Description

A terrace of four cottages, dating from the early 19th century, situated on Belmangate in Guisborough. The buildings are constructed of brick on a stone plinth, with dressed random rubble sandstone on the rear elevation. They have clay pantile roofs, stone ridge and gable copings, and two brick stacks. The cottages are two storeys high. Number 12 incorporates two cottages with a common cross-passage, accessed via a boarded door located centrally within the terrace. Number 10 features a mid-19th century canted bay window on the ground floor, a late 20th-century door on the right-hand side, and a single first-floor window. All windows are sash windows with glazing bars. Number 12 has one late 19th-century sash window on each side of the passage, on both ground and first floors. Number 14 has a mid-20th century door and a single sash window with glazing bars to the right-hand side on each floor.
