Description
Wheatlands Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse that was raised by one storey in the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of chevron-tooled dressed sandstone and features a mid-20th-century concrete tiled roof with stone gable coping and block kneelers. The building has two storeys and four windows. The door, which has been renewed, is located in the third bay and is set within a quoined basket-headed surround with a double-keyed lintel. The original window openings have mid-20th-century casements with keyed lintels. There is a plain band between the floors, and the farmhouse has end and ridge stacks. Mid to late 20th-century windows have been inserted in the returns, and there are garret lights in the gables, with the one in the east gable blocked. At the rear, there is a single-storey outshut.
