Description
Glapwell Lane House is a farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed squared sandstone, featuring sandstone dressings and chamfered quoins. The roof is covered with machine tiles and has a brick gable stack, along with stone-coped gables that include moulded kneelers.
The house is two storeys high, with the west elevation displaying three symmetrical bays. The central bay is slightly advanced and topped with a pedimented gable. There is a central doorway that has a bracketed pediment above it, leading to a 20th-century panelled door. This doorway is flanked by 20th-century cross windows, which sit under plain lintels. On the first floor, there is a blind Venetian window in the centre, surrounded by a keyed rusticated frame and a curved niche. This window is also flanked by 20th-century cross windows under plain lintels. A shallow lunette window is set within the pediment.
