Description

Newsham Lodge is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coarsely-dressed coursed sandstone with a concrete interlocking tile roof and has a late 19th-century rear wing to the left, which is not considered to be of special architectural interest. The main building is two storeys and has a loft, with three bays. It features quoins. The central entrance has a 20th-century part-glazed door within an ashlar architrave, topped with a simple open pedimented hood. Windows are 2-light casements with projecting ashlar sills and monolithic lintels scored to resemble voussoirs. Elaborately-shaped kneelers and an ashlar coping are present. Brick stacks are on the right return, with an ashlar stack on the left. The right return displays a small first-floor window with four panes and a board door leading to the loft.
