Description
The outbuilding to the north of Embleton Hall is an 18th-century structure that was altered in the late 19th century. It is built of rubble with roughly-shaped quoins and features tooled-and-margined dressings, topped with a Lakeland slate roof. The building is single storey and consists of four irregular bays. It has three boarded doors and boarded double doors at the left end, along with two 8-pane sash windows; all openings are framed in alternating-block surrounds. The gables have raised reverse-stepped copings. The left side of the building has a gable window beneath a timber lintel, which includes boarding and pigeon holes, while the right side features an 8-pane sash window above a blocked gable window. The rear of the building has five 8-pane sashes. This outbuilding is included for its group value with Embleton Hall.
