Description

This is a milepost located approximately 200 yards west of Mount Pleasant, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape with a steeply-canted top. One side is inscribed with "MOR" for Morpeth, the opposite side has "COR" for Cornhill, and the top features "LE" for London and Edinburgh, along with the numbers 39 5 326 52.
