Description
This building consists of a cottage and attached cartsheds, located approximately 100 yards northeast of Pawston House. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of random rubble with ashlar dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The structure is single storey and features seven irregular bays. The five bays on the left comprise the cottage, which has six-pane sash windows set in alternating-block surrounds, although the fourth window is a 20th-century replacement. The sixth bay is a higher, slightly projecting cartshed with a segmental arch and boarded double doors, while the seventh bay is another cartshed, also with boarded double doors. The building has a hipped roof, with the sixth bay featuring a transverse hipped roof of a steeper pitch. There are two brick ridge stacks, and a boarded door leads into the cottage from the left return.
