Description
The dovecote at Reedsford Farm is a henhouse and dovecote, probably dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of random rubble and features a Welsh slate roof along with a pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high and approximately 12 feet square, with single-storey lean-to sheds on either side.
Access is provided by three steps leading up to a boarded door, with similar doors located on the first floor and at the sheds. The structure has a steeply-pitched pyramidal roof topped with a square wooden cap, which also has a pyramidal roof and contains pigeon holes.
Inside, the ground floor features large brick triangular-headed nesting holes for hens, while the upper level has similar but smaller nesting holes for pigeons.
