Description

This milepost, located on the east side of the old A1, is situated 210 metres north of Cawledge Bridge. It was likely made in the mid-19th century and is constructed from cast iron, painted white with black figures. The milepost has a triangular shape with an open back and features raised lettering indicating the distances: 17 miles to Morpeth and 2 miles to Alnwick.
