Description

This milepost, located approximately 25 metres northwest of Bockenfield Bridge, dates from the mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and is painted white with black figures. The milepost has a triangular shape with an open back and features a raised legend indicating the distances: 8 miles to Morpeth and 11 miles to Alnwick. It stands at a height of about 0.75 metres.
