Description

This is an early 18th-century farmhouse located in Thirston. It is constructed of roughly-squared stone with an ashlar front. The south elevation is symmetrical, with two storeys and three bays. The central doorway has been renewed and is located within a 20th-century greenhouse. Late 19th-century four-pane sash windows are set within older architraves. The gables have been recoped and feature moulded kneelers, with rebuilt brick stacks. The returns show attic casement windows set in chamfered surrounds. A single-storey bay, added in the later 18th century, extends to the right and has a 20th-century window. The right return shows a reverse-stepped gable.
