Description
The farm buildings at Hemelspeth, built around 1800 with an early 19th-century gingang, are constructed from squared stone and feature 20th-century asbestos roofs. The gingang is made of tooled-and-margined stone with a slate roof. The buildings are arranged around a rectangular yard that is open to the south, with the gingang located at the rear of the east range. Most of the structures are single-storey, except for the cartshed in the center of the north range, which has a granary above. This section has two bays with segmental-headed cart entrances that are partly blocked, along with slatted windows above. The flanking single-storey sections have boarded doors. The east and west ranges have gabled south ends, with the west range featuring a chamfered segmental-headed cart entrance. All gables have returned coping. The gingang includes seven piers, with alternate piers being massive and stepped, and later metal and wood infill. The roof structure consists of radial ties, a central octagonal post, and curving purlins.
