The wellhouse, likely from the 18th century, is located opposite Alnmouth Methodist Church. It is constructed from squared stone and features a slab roof. The structure is low, measuring 1.7 metres square, and has a square-headed doorway along with a low-pitched gabled top. It is built into the hillside and was formerly the main water supply for Alnmouth.
