Description
The White Well, located 120 metres north of Alnwick Abbey Gatehouse, is a well house that likely dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed from squared stone and features a wrought-iron gate and a stone slab roof. The building is small and square, with a steeply-pitched gable above a square-headed door that holds a scrolled openwork gate. The gables are coped and have roll moulding at the apex. Inside, there are stone bench seats and a tank at the rear. This structure is also known as the Monks' Bath House.
