Description
Holy well located about 70 metres northeast of Chapel Farmhouse, dating from the medieval period and restored in the 19th century. It is constructed of slatestone rubble with granite quoins and a granite cill, topped with a slate roof featuring gable ends, with the front gable end being slate-hung. The plan consists of a small well-house built into the bank at the rear. The exterior includes a front gable end with a doorway that has roughly hewn jambs and a 20th-century wrought iron gate, along with a large granite cill. Inside, there is a well in the floor, with two channels at the rear and a rectangular image niche in the rear wall. The side walls of the well-house are supported on granite monolith sole-plates.
