Description

ST DOMINICK SX 46 NW 4/205 Holy well about 70 metres north east of Chapel Farmhouse II Holy well. Medieval; restored C19. Slatestone rubble with granite quoins and granite cill. Slate roof with gable ends, the front gable end slate-hung. Plan: Small well-house, built into the bank at the rear. Exterior: The front gable end has a doorway with roughly hewn jambs and C20 wrought iron gate. Large granite cill. Interior: There is a well in the floor, with 2 channels at the rear. Rectangular image niche in rear wall. The side walls of the well-house are set on granite monolith sole-plates.
