Description

These houses, occupied by Mr. Wilkinson and Mr. Sparks, date from the early 19th century and were originally the Duchess School. They feature a symmetrical arrangement of windows with a configuration of 2+2+3 across two storeys. The buildings are constructed of ashlar stone and the south block is slightly taller and set at an angle. The roofs are slate with raised verges, and there are one brick chimney and two rendered chimneys. The south block has late glazed sash windows, while the other windows have glazing bars. The northern house, occupied by Mr. Wilkinson, includes a glazed and gabled porch, while the southern house, occupied by Mr. Sparks, has a blocked door to the west and is accessed from the south.
