Description

The retaining walls on the south side of Walkergate are likely from the early 19th century. They extend for about 200 yards in total. The first 100 yards are built of rubble and stand approximately 5 feet high, while the remaining section is constructed of ashlar and reaches about 9 feet in height. There is a recessed fountain located to the east of the center, and at the eastern end, there is a double door set under a segmental archway.
