Description
Canongate Bridge, built in 1821, is a Grade I listed structure made of ashlar stone. It features three arches over the river and one land arch at the south end. The arches have moulded hood moulds, and there are circular panels in the spandrels. The parapet wall curves at the south end. This bridge was previously listed twice, but the duplicate record was removed on 3 April 2020. It is located within the parishes of both Alnwick and Denwick.
