Description

The William the Lion Commemorative Stone and the walls on each side are located on Ratten Row. The stone is a modern replacement that commemorates the capture of William the Lion of Scotland at this spot in 1174. The walls, made of snecked rubble, stand 4 to 5 feet high and extend approximately 50 yards to the west and about 200 yards to the east of the railings in front of the stone.
